Welcome back to AI 411, a monthly roundup of tech announcements from across the healthcare industry.
This month, Healthcare Brew spoke with GE HealthCare about its free program to train healthcare workers on how to use AI. We also broke down how new HIPAA rules may not be keeping pace with how quickly health tech is adopted.
But that’s not all that’s happened lately. Here’s your breakdown of May news.
Basta. The startup, which uses AI to streamline hospital workflows like phone calls and appointments, announced a $21 million Series A led by Lan Xuezhao, founder of venture company Basis Set, TechCrunch reported on May 7.
CVS Health. Speaking of AI training, the retail pharmacy chain launched a new AI Learning Academy on May 10 to teach its entire workforce about new technology.
H1. H1, which has a platform that identifies doctors who can support pharmaceutical companies, health systems, and health plans, announced on May 28 that it had a $40 million investment round led by CVS Health Ventures, the health giant’s investment arm.
Oura Health. The wearable company and AI-based primary care platform Counsel Health began a partnership on May 28 to provide Oura users access to doctors in its app to address potential health issues flagged by its ring devices.
Twin Health. The company, which uses AI to create digital twins for patients, announced on May 21 a GLP-1 Stewardship Model to help patients avoid long-term dependence on weight loss drugs.
WellSky. On May 26, the health tech launched a platform called CareQueue, which uses AI to pull health information on patients from electronic medical records to help nursing and long-term care facility workflows.
