Welcome back to AI 411, a monthly roundup of AI announcements from across the healthcare industry.
In February, tech giant Nvidia released a report on the state of AI in healthcare that found 70% of 600+ respondents are “actively using AI.” Electronic health records (EHR) company Epic also had a couple announcements this month, including Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin becoming the first provider to use its new charting tool and smart hospital company Artisight integrating with Epic MyChart Bedside TV.
Here’s your breakdown of February 2026’s AI updates.
Ambience. The AI scribe company announced Feb. 17 that health system Houston Methodist has deployed its technology across the system’s 35,000-person staff.
Athenahealth. The EHR company shared Feb. 19 the next generation of its AI platform, athenaOne. Among its new capabilities are text and voice systems that allow patients to ask doctors questions and make appointments to manage workflows.
Biomni Lab. A group of AI researchers from Stanford University launched on Feb. 3 the new integrated biology environment company, which uses AI to help biologists complete research. The $13.5 million seed funding round was led by venture capital (VC) firms Andreessen Horowitz and Menlo Ventures.
General Magic. The startup announced a $7.2 million seed funding round led by VC Radical Ventures on Feb. 24. It uses AI to help insurance carriers and brokers address customer needs and speed up the quote process.

Goodfire. The AI research lab startup said on Feb. 10 that it raised $150 million in a Series B round led by B Capital. The technology has so far been used to identify Alzheimer’s biomarkers.
Humana. The insurer launched a new AI tool built on Google Cloud called Agent Assist on Feb. 3. It’s designed to provide “proactive guidance, compliance support, and automated call summaries,” according to a release.
MedScout. On Feb. 24, the revenue platform, which uses AI to provide insights into medical sales, announced a $10 million growth round led by VC Fulcrum Equity Partners.
Midstream Health. The AI-backed financial platform shared on Feb. 10 that it’s now working with Chicago-based system CommonSpirit Health.
Ōura. The wearable company best known for its rings announced on Feb. 24 a new proprietary large language model designed to address women’s health issues.
Somethings. On Feb. 10, the digital mental health platform for children said it had a $19.2 million Series A round led by VC Catalio Capital.
Third Way Health. The startup, which is using AI to bring efficiency to front-office services like scheduling and prior authorization to hospitals, announced a $15 million Series A round led by VC Health Velocity Capital on Feb. 26.
Ubie. On Feb. 12, the startup announced a collaboration with Rochester, Minnesota-based Mayo Clinic to release an AI-powered chat and voice platform, Ubie Smart Support, to streamline patient and office services.
