Selwena Brewster. NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health announced Brewster as chief medical official on Dec. 2. She previously served as associate chief medical officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County.
Kevin Hammons. After serving as interim CEO of for-profit Franklin, Tennessee-based Community Health Systems since Oct. 1, Hammons officially stepped into the role on Dec. 10. Jason Johnson also officially became CFO on the same day.
Deepa Kumaraiah. Cardiologist Kumaraiah was appointed EVP and COO of NewYork-Presbyterian on Dec. 8. She is replacing Brian Donley, who will become president and CEO of the New York-based hospital on Jan. 22.
Charlene MacDonald. The Federation of American Hospitals, which represents community hospitals, tapped MacDonald as president and CEO on Dec. 16, effective Jan. 1.
Richard Pazdur. Oncologist Pazdur resigned as an FDA regulator at the end of December, Stat reported on Dec. 2. He’s retiring, though Stat reported he was said to have “concerns about the legality of a new drug review program.”
Rick Pollack. President and CEO of the American Hospital Association Pollack announced on Dec. 10 plans to retire “by the end of 2026.” He’s been with the association for 43 years.
Ziad Sultan. Healthtech Function, which is looking to make lab testing, medical imaging, and health data more accessible via AI, announced Sultan as chief product and technology officer on Dec. 2. He joins from Spotify, where he served as SVP of personalization.
