Navigate the healthcare industry

Healthcare Brew covers pharmaceutical developments, health startups, the latest tech, and how it impacts hospitals and providers to keep administrators and providers informed.

Pack your bags: We’re heading to sunny Los Angeles.

From February 25 to 28, I’ll be attending the annual ViVE conference, which highlights the latest innovations in digital health and brings together providers, C-suite execs, tech startups, and more. I’ll be on the ground chatting with as many digital health experts as I can find, hoping to learn about developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and how health systems are using health tech to boost equity, along with other hot-button issues.

I’ve reported on digital health’s tough 2023, which saw several startups file for bankruptcy, as well as the industry’s lowest funding numbers since 2019. Last month, Healthcare Brew reported that this year would be “transformative.” Rock Health researchers projected an upswing for digital health, but that some startups would shutter as others flourish. It’s only February, but I’m looking forward to seeing what developments have taken place so far and what experts think is coming for the rest of 2024.

I’m particularly excited to hear execs from Best Buy Health and Mass General Brigham speak on a panel about bringing the hospital into the home, and to listen to an OpenAI exec chat with Boston Children’s Hospital about generative AI’s potential short- and long-term effects on healthcare.

Plus, I’ll be moderating a panel with executives from Intuitive, Medtronic, and Johnson & Johnson, where we’ll talk about all things robotics-assisted surgery.

I’m hoping to chat with as many digital health pros as possible, so if you’re attending ViVE and would like to connect, reach out to [email protected]. See you there!
